How
fit do I need to be?
You don’t need to be an athlete to learn
to scuba dive, however you do need to be in good overall health and reasonably
fit. You should have basic swimming
skills and be comfortable in water.
Where is the training done?
Before you can go into open water you need to complete training in a swimming pool environment, this is conducted in Telford. Once you progress to open water, training is conducted in open water environments at Stoney Cove Dive Centre in Leicestershire, and other inland and costal sites.

How old do you have to be to learn to scuba dive?
You can begin to learn basic skills in the
swimming pool with a bubblemaker course when you are 8.
At 10 you can begin the junior scuba diving course.
At 15 you can complete the Open Water Course.
How
long does each course take?
All Padi courses are designed to suit your
requirements and work at a pace that you are comfortable with, please see
individual courses for more details.
What equipment do I need to start?
None.
When you begin scuba diving we provide all
equipment at no extra cost. As you
progress with more advanced courses, equipment charges may apply, please see
individual courses for more details.
